Job Summary
Data Interchange is a leading international provider of EDI and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solutions and services to the automotive and retail sectors with offices in the UK, Germany, Spain and Sweden.
With software at the heart of critical systems around the world, quality is paramount. To support future growth within the software development team, the Quality department is looking to recruit a new Software QA Test Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent IT technical skill set, proven track record and the ability to clearly communicate with both customers and senior management.
Responsibilities
• Analysis of requirements and design of corresponding test cases
• Manual testing of applications
• Designing and creating automated tests
• Executing automated tests and collating the results
• Maintenance of existing automated test scripts
• Assessment of functionality and usability
• Writing up test results including any deviations from requirements
• Assisting with Beta testing programs and collating feedback
• Preparing release information for dissemination within the company
Skills and Experience
Essential
• High standard of education - ideally degree level
• Experience with at least one software development language
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Able to logically analyse and understand complicated problems
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking theory and practice
• Thorough understanding of the Windows operating system environment
Desirable
• Training in testing methodologies (eg ISTQB)
• Experience in a similar software testing role
• EDI exposure to technologies such as SAP, FTP, AS2, EDIFACT and XML
• Familiarity with MS SQL queries and databases
