Once the corporate user has installed the X.25 hardware and software pre-requisites for ODEX/MVS, he is strategically placed to implement the following mechanisms which can share the X.25 dataline:

• The ability to have remote 3270 access over X.25. The suppliers / dealers could, in addition to EDI interchanges, make enquiries against corporate CICS and IMS database systems.
• The hardware necessary for ODEX/MVS will enable 3270 emulation software to function, providing the smaller trading partner dual access with common equipment.
