Mapping and Translation Services

Who needs mapping facilities?

More and more companies are enjoying the benefits of ERP and MRP systems, but find that the files they produce are not in the format required by their trading partners. Most systems produce flat files whose data is usually required in some form of EDI file by the recipient.

Similarly, the files received by these companies from their trading partners need to be reformatted before they can be input to their ERP/MRP system.

What this situation needs is a mapping facility that can transform files from one format into another.

What is the solution?

Xe is our latest, highly advanced, translation and mapping product that transforms incoming files and in-house files into the required formats for integration into your own and your trading partners’ internal systems.

Xe can be used as a stand-alone application but, more usefully, it is integrated with ODEX Enterprise to provide you with a seamless translation/communication facility.

Xe can also be used alongside other applications, where it functions simply as an executable called from a command line.

Do-it-Yourself

Where timescales and resources permit, Xe is sufficiently simple to use that we encourage users to perform mapping work in-house for themselves. To this end, we can provide tailored courses in the use of Xe, with hands-on practical sessions, in which all aspects of Xe mapping will be covered.

Let us do it for you

If you prefer, for whatever reason, not to carry out the mapping yourself, Data Interchange offers you the services of its Xe experts, who can perform the mapping work for you.

All we need from you is an input file specification and an output file specification for each of the mappings you require, or, if one of the files is a standard EDI file, details of the message version will suffice. Sample input and output files are also helpful.

We will then produce the file definitions and the mapping instructions required for each transformation.

Formats currently supported are EDIFACT (including version 4), ANSI X12, (including version 4040+), UNGTDI (Tradacoms), VDA, XML, flat files and CSV.
