When trying to sign a submission, a message is displayed indicating that the correct card is not installed. A prompt for the PIN number does not subsequently appear.

The most common cause for this kind of problem is that the System User has been set up with the wrong Certificate. To check this, follow the steps below.

  • Open the BACS.IP Administrator and select the 'System Users' menu item.
  • Double left mouse click on the entry for the user in question.
  • Ensure the correct SmartCard is inserted in the card reader and the green light is on.
  • Press the 'Select' button.
  • You should now highlight the 'Identity' certificate and press OK.
  • Save the changes to the System User profile.

The System User should now be able to sign the submission within the Submissions Client.
